This GoFundMe is for anyone who feels moved to contribute to the costs of laying John to rest and settling his affairs. Although we are still determining the costs, we believe we could manage them without hardship. Several generous people have offered to contribute, and this seemed like the best way to coordinate everyone's efforts.

About John

John Randall Christian passed on January 31st, 2021 of Covid-19. John leaves behind 2 daughters and 5 siblings, who know him as Randy. He was a talented mechanic who could fix basically anything, and a former Air Force Reservist who had dreamed of being an astronaut.

Memorial Plans

John lost his life to our ongoing pandemic, and it would be inappropriate to hold any in-person memorials at this time. He felt a profound awe at the Grand Canyon, and we are tentatively planning to scatter his ashes there for his birthday next year, covid permitting.

Costs

Local crematoriums have a backlog because of the the continuing crisis in Southern California, and we are still working to determine the costs associated with his cremation, and settling his affairs. This is a ballpark, based on our current conversations, and we'll update the amount once we have more information.

Again, we would like to emphasize that we don't anticipate these costs to pose a hardship - this is for ease of helping coordinate the generous people who have asked to help.
