Dear friends of Joan Robinson, we need your help to raise $10,000 to help pay for the anticipated cost of her funeral and handling of her final affairs. She has no family here and as her friends it is up to us to show her the respect that she would ensure was shown to all of us. We want to make sure her legacy is honored for her significant contribution to her biggest loves: the City of Memphis, downtown, animal charities, public service particularly politics, and, of course, her many friends. While she was a staunch Democrat, she of course, had love for many Independents & Republicans as well. We are hoping to raise money to pay for the anticipated costs of her funeral and the handling of her affairs. We were her village and we all know of the undeniable imprint she left on everyone she befriended. Whatever amount you can spare whether it be $50, $100, $250, or $500 will help give her a proper sendoff and peace in her final place of rest. Harold Ford, Sr is graciously working with us and handling the affairs to be sure we will have a cremation and internment at serenity Chapel, but there will obviously be a bill owed. Please join us for a celebration of life Friday, June 20 at Slider Inn downtown 5 to 7 PM. At a date to be determined we will have an interment of her ashes.
