Remembering Jeremy: Support for His Family

Donation protected
It is with heavy heart that I share the sudden loss of my brother, Jeremy, to suicide in January 2025. He was 44 years old. He leaves behind my sister-in-law, Jessi, and my nephews, Jay (23) and Seamus (11).

Jeremy and I grew up with fond memories including fun wrestling matches, backyard hose wars, games of tag in the backyard and all of the big sister / little brother pranks that often ensued. He was active in all kinds of sports, and he grew up to find his passion in coaching youth sports, especially basketball. He loved sharing his interests with others and was a natural teacher.

Jeremy discovered a love of cooking and was tremendously talented. He utilized these skills for several professional endeavors as well as entertaining friends and family. He also had a gift for working with his hands and was always working projects around the house. He made some beautiful epoxy fixtures.

Jeremy was a charmer! He had a way of making people feel at ease and would happily spend hours talking to anybody. He could strike up a conversation with anybody and become their closest confidant by the end of the day. He was always happy to help others despite the incredible personal pain he was dealing with.

Jeremy felt his emotions intensely. He loved fiercely and cared genuinely. He made a point to end every conversation with “love you” or drop those couple words in a text just to let you know he was thinking of you. He was supremely protective of his family, his country through his service in the United States Marine Corps, and the life that he built for himself. His wedding day was one of the happiest of his life. His sons meant the world to him and he could not have been prouder.

The outpouring of love and support from family and friends has been remarkable. Any contribution will help ease some financial burdens and allow Jessi, Jay and Seamus to focus on their new reality.

I am also hoping to bring awareness to reducing the stigma and normalizing treatment for mental health. For anyone who needs to hear this: if you are struggling, please know that it’s okay to ask for help. You are not alone. You matter.
