Remembering Jake & Caring for Copper

Jake was the kind of person who made you feel seen. He had a laugh you couldn't forget and a way of showing up when you needed it most. He loved his family—by blood and by choice—and he loved his dog, Copper, with his whole heart.

Jake died suddenly in a car accident on March 22, 2026. We're raising funds to honor him: to cover the costs of a roadside memorial, cremation, travel for his mom, Nina, to settle his affairs, and—most importantly—to make sure Copper is cared for and loved. Jake always believed in helping others, and he was the first to lend a hand or offer a kind word when someone was struggling. He built connections wherever he went, and his generosity touched so many lives.

If there’s anything left after these expenses, it will go to ECKAN, a local organization that helps families and kids in need. Their mission—building connections and supporting the stability, health, and engagement of people in East Central Kansas—reflects the way Jake lived his life. Thank you for helping us remember Jake, care for Copper, and support the community he called home. Your kindness means more than we can say.
