Remembering Ivy by renovating room 9
Spende geschützt
On the 27th of December 2021 our world fell apart when Ivy Joan Kehoe was born sleeping at 4:55am weighing 2.2lbs. We went into the conquest terrified of what was to come, and we were met by the kindest, most compassionate people possible. The process of delivering a sleeping baby is the most daunting experience we think a couple can face.
Since we came home, we have been searching for something we can do to give back to the team, whilst also offering something for other people who find themselves where we were!
The conquest hospital have a special room for the delivery and a wonderful home from home for after the birth. known as room 9 and the Snowdrop suite, set away from the rest of the delivery rooms to offer some privacy.
The snowdrop suite is a beautiful self contained flat where parents can be with their babies, and prepare to leave the hospital.
In discussions with the Berevment team about what has happened to us, we mentioned that room 9 is a little tired, it doesn’t feel if it’s clinical, but also doesn’t feel very homely. They are hoping to completely re-do the room to make it a nice, warm and safe space and we felt this renovation is something we want to contribute too.
So, in Memory of our beautiful daughter Ivy, we would love to make a donation to get this started, and rather than sending us flowers, would like you to help us achieve enough to get the team started on this project. We’ve chosen go fund me so, when we’re ready we can make a cheque to the right team to ensure the money goes exactly where it’s needed, to the Berevment team on delivery suite at the conquest hospital, our contact there being Angela.
We thank you for anything you are able to donate for Ivy, and to help ensure the next time someone uses room 9, for the comfort a beautiful place to deliver will bring them.
