Remembering Isaac: Love and Loss on Christmas

My name is Lissette Hernandez and I’m Isaac Hernandez’s sister. A few days ago, my beloved little brother Isaac got sick and came down with a stomach infection but he couldn’t get better; he just kept vomiting. He went to the ER on Christmas Eve and he started getting better with the treatments at the hospital, so he felt he could go home. He loved Christmas and everything that comes with it and he didn’t want to miss any of it. He asked us to go pick him up from the ER because he was being released. We went to pick him up but once he got home, his condition quickly worsened. He started vomiting a lot and he went to lie down. Then, he started coughing a lot too. Finally, he asked me to take the light off and then there was silence. When I went to the room to check on him, brown liquid started coming out from his mouth and he had a faint heartbeat. We called 911 and they immediately started cpr and trying to resuscitate him but they couldn’t. He passed away on Christmas Day, 12/25.

Isaac was a special, Christ-loving man. He was generous, kind and humble. He had a pure heart and was like a little kid in lots of ways. I wish i could’ve done more to help Isaac when he was sick. My brothers, dad and I loved him and will miss him every single day. Now we are faced with unforeseen funeral arrangements for my little brother since we never expected his condition to be fatal.
