With a heavy heart, I announce the passing of my beloved son, George Vermong.
George passed away on June 4th at 10:30 pm. He was a well-known and beloved entertainer in New Orleans, especially on Bourbon Street, where his larger-than-life personality and unforgettable voice brought joy to countless people. Many knew him as Ashley T. Traffic, the charismatic figure who directed traffic on Bourbon Street and became a familiar face to locals and visitors alike.
George’s journey to New Orleans began when he volunteered with the American Red Cross during Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. After completing his assignment, he chose to make New Orleans his home, building a life dedicated to entertaining others and spreading laughter wherever he went.
He touched the lives of so many people through his kindness, humor, and vibrant spirit. George was deeply loved by his family, friends, and the New Orleans community, and his presence will be greatly missed.
We will be honoring George’s life and legacy in New Orleans, a city he loved dearly. Details regarding the memorial service and celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time
