On the morning of December 7, 2025, a devastating fire broke out at a vacant church in the 19th Ward of Rochester. After the early morning fire was extinguished, the Rochester Fire Department reported that 2 bodies had been discovered.

With the heaviest of hearts, we share that in March 2026, Fredrick Donnell Dixon Sr. was identified as the second individual found at the site a few days later. Fred was an amazing husband, father, stepfather, son, uncle, and friend who meant so much to everyone who knew and loved him.

This devastating tragedy has left a deep and immediate void in the lives of his family and those who love him. As they begin the difficult process of planning arrangements for Fred’s final goodbye and homegoing, his family is asking for support during this incredibly painful time.
