Frank DeBina Jr. Memorial Organized by DeBina ‘Ohana

In Loving Memory of Frank DeBina Jr.

The DeBina ‘Ohana suffered a tremendous loss--the loss of pillar of their family. The Lord took Frank home on Friday, May 22, 2020. All who knew Frank know he is a man of few words, but that he’s also a man whose word could be trusted as solid gold. Frank is a man who loved the Lord first and was there for his family; but would help anyone in need—family, friend, or stranger. Frank has an infectious smile and Spirit of Aloha that impacted everyone who met him.

Frank (many of you know him as “Frankie Boy”) grew up in Napo’opo’o and was an avid waterman. He was one of the few kneeboarders on the Big Island. Frank dominated the waves along the Kona Coast where he grew up; but, especially in his hana-buttah grounds down Middle Ke’ei and Manini Beach. He was a fisherman at heart and raised his kids and grandchildren to have a love of the water as well.

Frank was a man after God’s Own Heart. He loved the Lord and put Him first in everything he did. He leaves a legacy of integrity and a life lived and filled with Fruit. We’ve seen the Fruit in Frank’s life...he always showed love, joy, faithfulness, gentleness, kindness, patience, peace, and self-control in everything he did. He would put others above and before himself.

Frank met Alayna, his soulmate and first love, during his junior year of high school. They were inseparable ever since. The two of them did everything together and their love for each other touched everyone who met them. “Frank & Alayna” were THE team! Their love for the Lord, each other, and mutual respect being part of their “secret ingredient” that kept their marriage strong.

Their daughters, Andria and Kawai, were their heart’s delight and the family all grew up as a true “‘ohana” who did everything together. When their two grandchildren, Manoa and Mellow, came into the picture, Frank realized another calling in his life—the love of his mo’opuna. “Pah” will be oh, so sorely missed by his grand babies!
