Our dear friend Francine Berg suddenly passed away from an aneurysm on Friday, September 4th, leaving behind her husband Kevin and daughter Fiona (17). Words cannot express the sadness experienced by her family, friends, and colleagues.

Francine left an everlasting impression on every single person she met with her warmth, sense of humor, and beaming presence.

For her family, there was no one more devoted, passionate, and proud. We all knew how much she loved and cared for her husband and daughter. She shared her dreams for Fiona’s future and retirement with Kevin.

For her friends, there was no better person to go with to try out a new restaurant, bakery, or cafe with. She was your go-to person to discuss the movies, comics, and TV shows. She was the one to enjoy popcorn with.

Working at UCI for over 20 years, she left a legacy. She was the glue that held academic planners moving forward and was an ultimate resource for hundreds of colleagues and instructors. Her work has and will forever transform the lives of thousands of students.

She was a true friend to all.
