Remembering Fernando, help Laura Pugh get him home

Donation protected
Fernando Higareda Flores left us unexpectedly this past Sunday. He leaves behind his love Laura, along with dear family and countless friends. He will be missed greatly. Fernando was a dedicated worker and his skill in stonemasonry will leave lasting memories around the community. He came to the United States in 1996 at age 22, leaving behind his family and loved ones to make a better life for himself, but also to provide support to his family back in Mexico.

We are gathering donations to ensure he is given the dignified memorial and burial he deserves without Laura having to shoulder the cost on her own. This cost includes the funeral expenses and transporting him back for a final kiss from his Madre and burial in Oaxaca, Mexico. Any amount beyond the funeral and transport cost will be used to cover any outstanding bills/other costs and then to support his family in Mexico.

Donations can be made directly to Farris Funeral Home by calling (276) 623-two, seven, zero, zero. This method avoids any transaction fees. However, this GoFundMe is set up for those who prefer online giving. This fund will be managed by Laura's sister, Robyn.
