Honoring Eric Martinez’s Life & Supporting Our Family After His Battle with Mental Health

It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the loss of my brother, Eric Martinez, after his long and painful battle with mental health. He fought so hard for so long, even on the days when the weight of the world felt unbearable. To us, he was so much more than his struggles — he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and a light in so many lives.

Mental health challenges are often silent and invisible. While Eric carried his pain quietly, he also carried so much love for the people around him. He had a kind heart, a unique sense of humor, and a presence that could make you feel understood without even saying a word. We will forever miss his laugh, his spirit, and the special way he showed he cared. One of the greatest joys in his life was being an uncle. He absolutely adored his nieces and nephews. They were his pride and joy. The way his face lit up around them is something we will never forget. He loved making them laugh and spending time with them. His bond with them was pure and full of unconditional love.

Our parents are devastated. No parent should ever have to say goodbye to their child. They are currently living on a fixed income and already struggle to make ends meet each month. The unexpected costs of funeral arrangements and related expenses have created an additional financial burden during an already overwhelming time of grief.

We are asking for support to help cover funeral expenses and to ease the financial strain on our parents so they can focus on healing rather than worrying about bills.
