Please help us honor the life of Eric Arzate.

On August 10th, we unexpectedly lost our beloved Eric at just 20 years old. There are no words that can truly capture how much Eric meant to the people who knew and loved him. He was a son, brother, partner, and friend, and his loss has left an immeasurable emptiness in the lives of so many.

Eric was a beautiful person. No matter the situation, he always found a way to put others before himself. In college, he dedicated years of his life to learning how to save the lives of others as well as volunteering for local first responder programs. One of his greatest dreams was to become a firefighter. He worked incredibly hard toward that dream and wanted nothing more than to make the people he loved proud.

To those who knew him, Eric’s selflessness shone through in every interaction. He always made sure his friends were smiling and could so easily become the funniest person in the room. He was also a man with a deep love and respect for his family and his partner of five years. His love for them was evident in every word he spoke, every text he sent, and every hug he gave.

This loss comes only three years after the sudden passing of his father, Raul Arzate. Eric and his father shared a deep love of music and were both talented musicians. We find comfort in imagining that they are together again, rehearsing for their next concert.

For Eric’s family to endure two devastating losses in such a short period of time is a heartbreak no family should have to experience. We are creating this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden of the expenses that come with losing someone so unexpectedly and to give his family the space to grieve without the added weight of financial uncertainty.
