On Saturday, February 20, 2021 my family suffered a devastating loss. One of which can only be described as a nightmare.
My cousin, Erica Jones, oldest son was killed down the road from his home. Eric was 16 years old and would be turning 17 in March. He was a bright kid with a smile that lit up a room. He knew no stranger and his mom could always depend on his help.
No mother should suffer the loss of a child at the hands of another. No mother should worry when her child walks down the road that he will not return and that walk would result in a senseless act of violence. As she faces this loss and the tremendous amount of grief she now has to find a way to give her son a proper burial. Myself and a family friend, Karen Henderson, are trying to help her with this unthinkable task and ease the burden. If you are unable to contribute we understand.
