Remembering Elijah: A 9th Grader's Legacy

It is with heavy hearts that I DraVenna (GodMother) share the tragic news of the passing of Elijah Le'Chon Novelle Davenport, a bright and loving 14-year-old whose life was cut short due senseless gun violence March 1, 2025. Elijah was a 9th-grade student at Centennial High School in Compton, Ca, full of promise and potential.

He leaves behind his devoted mother, Mercedes, his two siblings (Z'Khiyah (10) and Niko (1)), and a large family who are now facing the unimaginable pain of this sudden loss. As they grieve, they are also confronted with the unexpected financial burden of laying Elijah to rest.
