Remembering Elaine Jordans warmth and love

Donation protected
Celebrating a life rich in love and devotion, the life of Elaine Jordan. Leaving a lasting memory of warmth and kindness. Elaine enjoyed her 71 years of life to its fullest. She never passed up an opportunity to be with family and friends. She was always there for her loved ones. Elaine's warmth, laughter, and big smile will always be remembered. We want to give Elaine Jordan (my Mom) the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Elaine's funeral. We need to raise $15,000-$20,000 by the end of March in order to be able to afford the funeral services.

Elaine was born on September 17, 1953. Raised in the city of Pasadena, she attended Field Elementary, Wilson Middle School, and Pasadena High School. On February 9, 1974 Elaine married the love of her life Wesley S. Jordan. They had three beautiful children together. She was a devoted mother of Steven Jordan, Desiree Jordan, and Michael Jordan. She was a daughter to Annie Amaya and late Edward Amaya Sr., sister to Eddie, Richard, Evelyn, Susan, and Marcie Amaya, grandmother to Anthony, Bryan, Alena, Wes, Cinkoe and Zeniyah Jordan(Steven's Kids), Aliyahh, Jordan, and Robert Cambron(Desiree's kids), Michael Jr, Joshua, Edward and Cindy Jordan(Michael's Kids) , and great grandmother to Braxton Jordan and Ayvee Villalaba. Her greatest joy in life, however, was her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and cherished beyond measure. She took immense pride in being a grandmother, always making sure her love and wisdom were felt by those she held close to her heart.

Elaine faced many health challenges in her final years, battling through dialysis, dural procedures, and various setbacks. Despite these struggles, she continued to fight with the same strength and determination that defined her life. She fought hard the last three months of her life.

My mom, my best friend, my everything, Elaine Jordan, has spent the last months of her life fighting. She fell at home and hit her head very hard on December 5, 2024 and she was rushed to the Huntington Hospital. After she was treated for her bump on her head she was discharged to the Pasadena Skilled Nursing Facility for rehabilitation. She was there for a couple of weeks until she had complications breathing and was rushed back to the Huntington Hospital on December 26, 2024. She almost stopped breathing, so the Doctor ordered for her to be intubated. She was intubated for two and a half days and they slowly weaned her off the ventilator and she was able to breathe on her own. It was nice to see her healing and being the strong person that she is. My mom asked me, "please don't send me back to that place" meaning the Pasadena Skilled Nursing Facility. With that being said, I notified the Case Management Department and I asked them to find another facility that my mom can go to for rehabilitation. So she had two choices to choose from. The Californian which is right behind the Huntington Hospital or Two Palms which is on Washington Blvd. near the other facility Pasadena Skilled Nursing Facility. We chose The Californian because it was right behind the Huntington Hospital. She was very fortunate to be at The Californian because The Two Palms burnt down on January 7, 2025 when the Eaton Fire hit.

She was looking good getting the rehabilitation help from all the staff and nurses at The Californian. I was visiting her on a regular basis checking up with her to see how things were going, and she seemed happy and feeling good doing physical therapy 3-4 times a week. Unfortunately she got Covid the first week of February and shortly after she got covid she was taken to the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale on February 10, 2025. She was there for a couple of days before she had to go to ICU. While she was recovering from covid she needed Thoracentesis and had a small procedure done, getting a chest tube inserted into her chest to drain fluid that was building up in her chest wall. The chest tube was helping the fluid get out and she was looking and feeling better. She recovered from Covid and was back on the 6th floor of the hospital doing her dialysis on the regular basis. Then on February 28, 2025 while on dialysis she had complications with her blood pressure and was rushed to IUC. She had a heart attack and was put on a ventilator fighting for her life. She shortly passed away and started her next journey on March 5, 2025 at 8:19Pm on Ash Wednesday.

My mom never had the conversation with any of us about what steps to take for her services and nothing was prepared for all that has happened at this time. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but coping with a sudden loss adds a different element to the grieving process. For those who are willing and able to help, contributions can be made here on GoFundMe, as well as via Venmo (@Desiree-Jordan-17) The contributions will help to offset funeral costs.

We thank you for all your love and support for the Jordan Family during this truly difficult time. Please feel free to share this GoFundMe link with anyone looking for ways to give. Any contribution will help lay my beautiful mama to rest.
We love you with all our hearts, Elaine (Mom) Thank you for being you, and for all the unforgettable memories we were so blessed to share. May my mom Rest in Paradise she will always be loved and remembered forever.
