Remembering Eileen: A Heartfelt Farewell

Dear friends and family,
My name is Felix E Vaquilar and I’m Eileen’s younger brother. It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that the Vaquilar family shares the loss of Eileen V. Clifford. She was a bright light of inspiration to us. She was someone who loved us, cared for others and always had a way of making everyone feel special. Her sudden passing has left a huge hole in our lives and an emptiness in our hearts. But while we grieve, we also come together to honor the life she lived and recount the beautiful memories of her that we will all hold close to our hearts forever.
In this difficult time, the Vaquilar family is reaching out to Eileen’s community of friends, family, colleagues and acquittances whose life Eileen touched and gave inspiration, love and happiness to. She brought laughter, comfort and joy to all those that knew her with her bright smile, happy laugh and warm and genuine personality. Whether you’ve known her for a lifetime or a short while, her impact on you is something that will never fade.
And amidst our sorrow, we want to give her the farewell she so well deserves. The Vaquilar family is trying to raise enough money to cover her unexpected funeral and memorial costs as well as expenses to bringing her back home to California. I, unfortunately, have to front these costs not knowing how long it will take or if I will be able to recover anything. This makes raising my own family that much more difficult as these are expenses I never envisioned happening any time soon and a burden that no one should have to carry alone. Any contribution – no matter how small – will help me through this challenging time. As we gather to celebrate her memory, the Vaquilar family humbly asks for your financial support to help us lay her to rest.

I want to thank everyone that attended and participated in the Rosary Prayer and Mass Services for Eileen at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church (West Islip, NY) held last Saturday, March 15th before she headed back to California. The turnout was large and Father Charles and Father Dennis gave a memorable Mass for Eileen, one I won't soon forget.
