We’re completely heartbroken by the sudden loss of our father, Edgar Celeste.
Our dad struggled with diabetes and he finally succumbed to his illness and also from the heartache of losing our mom, his wife Agnes a few years ago.
He was a kind, loving, and generous man who touched many throughout his life. He has made many dear friends along the way, who have all become like family. Our parents always had the door open for anyone who was visiting and would always take the time to show them the San Francisco Bay Area. No matter the distance of a family or friend gathering, he would always make the effort to travel. In the church, him and my mother would always reach out to families who were struggling and always tried to inspire any misguided youth. He was also a pioneer for the LDS Church in the Philippines establishing the gospel as a missionary.
My dad was a smart man. He built our home in 2004 and continued to do contracting work for many friends, family, and people in our neighborhood.
He was always patient with our brother, Alfred, who is autistic, and after the loss of our mother, my dad continued to do his best to care for our brother as much as his health and age could permit.
As a child, I only have fond memories of my father showing us love and support, no matter what we decided. I especially remember him taking our family on many road trips and even if it was just a drive around San Francisco, and driving us down Lombard Street.
He was a loving son and brother to his many siblings. Loving father to his children,Chris, Alfred, and Rachel. As well as a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren, the twins Rayleen and Deeanne, Jeralyn, Lily, and his only grandson Jayrell- who all absolutely adored my dad. He was always available when I asked to look after his grandchildren and loved spending time with them, from taking them to the zoo, or going to the park and eating McDonald's.
For anyone who was fortunate enough to havemet my dad, or both of my parents, you would know just how kind and amazing people they both were.
I would like to say thank you to each and everyone who has expressed an outpouring of love to our family at this time, and your kindness means a lot to our family.
Love,
The Celeste Family
