On behalf of the Ritter family, this fundraiser is being organized to help with funeral cost and after life expenses after the unexpected passing of Edward “Ed” Ritter on May 2, 2026.

Ed was a beloved father to Melissa and Travis, proud grandfather to Rose, loyal friend, coach, mentor, and a true pillar of the Brooksville community. Anyone who knew Ed knew he had a larger than life personality, a contagious sense of humor, and a heart that was always open to helping others.

For many years, Ed dedicated himself to youth baseball and softball in Hernando County, spending countless hours coaching, mentoring, and encouraging local kids both on and off the field. He impacted the lives of so many young athletes and families, and his presence in this community will be deeply missed.

Ed was known for always showing up for the people he loved whether it was helping a neighbor, fixing small engines, supporting friends, going to the local games or just being someone people could always count on. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and never hesitate to lend a helping hand.

His passing was sudden and extremely unexpected, and unfortunately the family was not financially prepared for the expenses that come with such a heartbreaking loss. This fundraiser is being created to help ease the financial burden of funeral, cremation, memorial, and all related end of life expenses so the family can focus on grieving and honoring Ed’s life.
