On Sunday, May 3, 2026, our family and community suffered a devastating and tragic loss when our beloved Dory Cook was taken from us in an act of violence.

Dory was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated many years of her life to helping others as a social worker and therapist. She was a pillar in the Indigenous community, offering guidance, compassion, advocacy, and support to countless people over the years. Her kindness and commitment to helping others touched so many lives, and the impact she made will never be forgotten.

As our family navigates this devastating loss, we are asking for the support of our community to help us give Dory the send-off she deserves as she begins her journey to the spirit world. We want to honour her in a good way, surrounded by love, ceremony, family, and community.
