Pedro Albizu Campos Translations Project

If you are familiar with my website, RememberingDonPedro.com, or my first book, Vida y Hacienda: The Life and Legacy of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, then you know of my efforts to make the story of Don Pedro more accessible for the Boricua Diaspora and English-speaking allies of Puerto Rico.

Up to now I have been able to personally fund all aspects of this work. The next project, however, is more ambitious and calls me to tap into community support more intentionally.

Rather than continue to write about Don Pedro, the goal of my next project is to increase access in English to his own words. To do this, I will edit a book with translations of writings that were authored by him over the course of his political career.

Besides paying for the cost of professional translation services, which accounts for the majority of the book’s expenses, funds raised will also be used to cover legal consultation, book design and publishing, and more.

This work is important to me. I believe that Don Pedro’s life, legacy, and words are worthy of renewed reflection during this critical time in the history of Puerto Rico.
