Our hearts are broken as we mourn the tragic loss of Deontavis "Big Coop" Cooper.

Big Coop was more than a son, brother, cousin, teammate, and friend—he was a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. Known for his unforgettable smile, kind heart, and larger-than-life personality, Coop had a way of making people feel welcome and loved. He was the type of young man who would do anything for those around him and always put others before himself.

A standout student-athlete at Thomas County Central High School, Coop was loved by his teammates, coaches, teachers, classmates, and community. He worked tirelessly to achieve his dream of playing college football and was preparing to begin the next chapter of his journey at Tulane University. His future was bright, and his impact on those around him was immeasurable.
