April 14, 2025 Update--
Denice had a personality that was feisty, explosive, with the fake social niceties stripped away! She was a firecracker who never sugar-coated anything! She told it like it was, and many appreciated that raw truth. You always knew where you stood with Denice. Love her or hate her, she had the booming voice of a Simpson character that smoked one too many packs of Marlboro Reds. People knew her for her raspy voice, but her special friends knew her as a person who had a soft underbelly and the inner tenderness of a prickly pear. She also had a great passion for students with special education needs and dedicated her life to the profession. After a courageous battle with cancer, Denice Hageli, a veteran York Duke, succumbed to this awful disease, but she leaves behind her beloved husband and three sons. This GoFundMe is for the family to utilize these well-needed funds to cover the costs of her cremation and the financial burden of the costly medical bills that continue to grow. Please give generously if you can, and allow her family to grieve free of the financial burden that is currently hanging over them.
With love and gratitude,
Jennie, Kelly, Kristina, and Gaby
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
As many of you may already know, Denice Hageli has been a paraprofessional at York Community High School for many years. Affectionately known as "Ms. H" to many of her students, she has worked hard to create strong bonds with them. Denice has been in cancer remission for some time, but unfortunately, recent scans have shown that her cancer is back and she will have to once again begin an aggressive round of chemotherapy treatment. Not only will this take a toll on her physical and mental health, but also on her finances. On behalf of Denice, we are asking for monetary donations that may offset her medical bills and give her more time to focus on healing. Any amount you can donate is welcomed and greatly appreciated. It is our hope to provide support to Denice during this incredibly difficult time, just as Denice has shown us throughout the years.
Thank you so much for your support,
Gaby & Kristina
