Hi everyone,
As you know, mom recently passed away after a long, hard battle with multiple post op complications after her surgery in May. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help support my father during this difficult time.
Our dad was and is a loyal, caring, and devoted husband and father. Throughout moms hospitalization, dad did not leave her side once. She spent 2 months at university of Chicago, was discharged home for a few days, then readmitted for the next month.
My dad was her sole advocate every step of the way.
He was by her side when she had her first seizure and caught it. The nurses likely would not have caught had he not been there. He was there when she woke up, when she went back into a coma, and through it all. He helped feed, bathe, and care for her in every way he could. Through this time my dad used all of his FMLA and ultimately lost his job because he “would not leave her side” to return to work.
We tried to look at it as a “blessing in disguise” knowing that he’d have more time to spend with her. However, this has left dad struggling to keep his head above water.
Our mom ran the house since the day they were married. This gave mom additional purpose and helped dad focus on work and his family. Needles to say, this has left our dad feeling a little lost. 100% of this fundraiser will go towards helping our dad pay medical bills, mortgage, groceries, etc.
His entire life he has sacrificed to give everything to his girls.
Dad isn’t aware Shannon and I are creating this for him. While donations are not necessary, any bestowment is deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this
