Coach David Castillo suddenly passed Saturday October the 13th at the age of 61. An Episcopal and LSU graduate, Castillo spent nearly 40 years as a high school coach, including notable stints as a basketball coach at Barbe High in Lake Charles and Bethany Christian.
He was a mentor and a friend to many and was always a blessing to anyone that crossed his path. He was a man of great character and a tremendous man of God.
He leaves behind a daughter, Allie, and a son Grant.
For those that knew Coach, they know that his children were his world and he would talk about their accomplishments regularly.
They are faced with the challenge of planning the necessary arrangements of his death all while dealing with the heartache of losing their loving father.
I know Coach touched many lives. Many have asked how they can help. Any donations to help with the expenses that can occur throughout this process is greatly appreciated. Thank you and please continue to send prayers for Grant, Allie & the rest of the Castillo family.
