Remembering Dave Holden

For seven years, Dave Holden valiantly battled pancreatic cancer. Finally, on April 21st, 2018, he passed away in the presence of his family. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Cathy, who fought alongside him while continuing working full-time. She is Great Beginning's longest employee, a pre-kindergarten teacher, and was present and attentive for her students and their families each and every day during this difficult time. It is a testament to her strength and dedication that even the familes who saw her daily didn't know the battle she and her husband were facing. She didn't ask for pity; she didn't make excuses; she showed up every day with a smile. Yet, over the last seven years, medical bills have continued to accumulate. Not only has Cathy lost her lifelong partner, she now faces daunting medical bills, and lost wages as she grieves and makes arrangements. We only wish to reciprocate the support and dedication as we fundraise to alleviate some of Cathy's financial strain. We are so grateful for her service, and for your generous support in this difficult time.
