There’s no way to ever fully prepare your heart for the moment you have to say goodbye to your beloved furbaby. On April 14th, I had to make the hardest decision of my life—to let go of my sweet Cooper. The grief and pain that followed have been overwhelming. What’s made this time even harder has been the unexpected financial burden of a large vet bill, including the cost of Cooper’s cremation.

This GoFundMe was set up to help cover the unexpected vet medical bill, since they have to receive payment in full before they can complete the cremation part. This will allow me the closure I need and be able to bring Coopers ashes back home where he belongs.

Cooper was my whole world—my best friend, my protector, my adventure buddy, my soul companion. He saved me in ways I can’t even put into words.

He was a bright, happy, and incredibly smart dog who loved everyone he met and brought joy everywhere he went. Sadly, in the past year, Cooper began suffering from seizures and then was later diagnosed this week with heart failure. His heart—so full of love—just couldn’t carry on any longer. As much as I would’ve given anything for just a little more time with him, I knew I had to do what was best for him and let him go.

I take comfort in imagining him now, running free among the clouds, pain-free and surrounded by new doggy friends. And I know, deep in my heart, he’ll be there waiting for me someday.
