Remembering Cookies: A Beloved Family Pet

Hello neighbors,

It is with great sadness and pain that I write to let everyone know that our deeply loved family cat Cookies has passed away. Unfortunately, he had been going through medical problems the past few years (kidney, heart disease, arthritis), which he was getting treatments for. He finally lost the battle yesterday and was in too much pain to continue such treatments. As a family we had to make a hard decision to euthanize him.

Cookies has been our family cat since he was born, and would have been 15 years old this month. He has been loved by many in his neighborhood homes from Forest Grove, to Cornelius, to his last home in Hillsboro. He always has loved the outdoors and has always been a free spirit. He loved kids, and greeting people as they walked by his home. He also loved to eat and never missed a meal at home.

He has grown up alongside my family through all the years and has always been there through our ups and downs. My eldest was just 9 years old when we first adopted him.

If you ever got the chance to meet Cookies, youll understand what I mean when I say he loved everyone, and was very trusting of new people. As a neighbor or passerby, if you ever watched out for him or let us know about anything, I want to extend my appreciation. As a family we have always been very protective of him, and I am glad that this neighborhood grew that same energy.

Unfortunately, at this stage the vet bills have stacked up, and are now becoming increasingly hard to pay down given Cookies end of life care. If anyone is able to donate even just a few dollars, our family would be very grateful.

We will be placing a memorial sign in our yard soon as well, and will be having him cremated so we will have his urn soon too.
