Remembering Tara R. Berkowitz: Donate for a Cure
Tax deductible
For our beloved Coach Berkowitz.
My name is Linalee Ko, and I’m raising money in honor of Tara R. Berkowitz—the Roslyn community’s beloved volleyball and badminton coach, mentor, and elementary school gym teacher. Coach Berkowitz passed away on May 8, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was only 40 years old.
Berk was more than a coach—she was a guiding light in my life from elementary school through middle and high school. Her energy, positivity, and belief in her students shaped who I am today. She pushed us to be better athletes and better people, and she did it all with her trademark smile and unshakable spirit.
As a Physical Education Teacher and Coach in the Roslyn School District, Tara dedicated her life to helping students grow stronger, more confident, and more resilient. Even when facing her own challenges, she continued to uplift others and give from the heart.
This fundraiser is my way of giving back and honoring Coach Tara’s legacy. All donations will go to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, supporting critical research, education, and support for those affected by this disease.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Together, we can carry forward Tara’s legacy—with love, strength, and hope.
Thank you so much for your support.
