I thought I was leaving a nightmare behind when I left 2020 and entered 2021 but instead I was just stepping into another. Never would I have imagined that I would lose my father in November of 2020 and then two months later in January of 2021 my mother would be gone. My mother and father were incredible parents to my brother and I growing up and I hurt everyday knowing that they left this earth deserving so much more. They were both the type of people who left a lasting impression on people. They were compassionate, giving, funny, beautiful and full of faith. Without the two of them of them here, I have been left with more responsibilities than I can handle on my own and while it has always been incredibly difficult for me to ask for help, both of my parents taught me to never let my pride get in the way. I have had to take an unpaid leave from work to handle the loss of both of my parents in such a short time and I know I will need some financial assistance when it comes to covering not only mortuary and memorial services for my mother but also some expenses that I have inherited from my parents.
