"On August 8, 2025, Jill and Zach welcomed identical twin daughters, Allison and Clare. Their pregnancy was the rarest type of twin pregnancy, making it extremely high risk. Clare showed signs of growth restriction and had an abnormal umbilical cord. When Clare's heart rate kept dropping, the doctors decided the girls needed to be delivered at 24 weeks gestation. They both entered the world tiny but mighty. With underdeveloped bodies and organs, the girls began their fight for life. Both developed infections in their intestines, and Allison required surgery at 3 days old and again at 5 days old to repair holes caused by the infection. Clare’s infection did not appear until the fourth week of her life. She faced further complications when she developed a staph infection, which spread to her blood and her right lung. Sadly, Clare’s little body could no longer endure, and she took her last breath in her parents’ arms on September 7, 2025, just one day shy of being one month old.

Allison continues to grow stronger each day and is showing signs of stability. She has experienced significant brain bleeds, and doctors have explained that she will have cerebral palsy, though the severity and impact on her life are still undetermined."
