In Loving Memory of Christine

Hi, my name is Shelby, and I’m the daughter of Christine.

On Monday, July 21st, our family experienced the sudden and heartbreaking loss of my mom. She passed away unexpectedly at home. Her loss follows an unimaginable series of tragedies—my mom lost her firstborn son, Matthew, in the 1980s; my sister Macy in 2020; and most recently, my brother Anthony in 2024, just days after his son Axel was born.

After my brother’s passing, my mom retired from her job as a waitress to become a full-time caregiver for Axel, her first grandson. He was her light and her reason to keep going. Axel gave her something to fight for—joy, purpose, and deep love.

At the end of 2024, my mom was hospitalized with a serious bowel blockage. She spent weeks in the hospital, including Christmas and New Year’s, endured multiple surgeries, and was placed into a medically induced coma for several days to help her body heal. But she fought her way back. As soon as she was able, she returned home and resumed caring for Axel, pouring her energy into her family, her community, and her faith.

My mom had a heart that could fill a room. She never asked for much—just the chance to love and serve others. She was deeply involved in her church, helped organize semi-monthly food drives, and regularly donated to families in need. She was always creating joy, whether by cooking meals for a house full of kids or simply being someone people could count on. She became a second mom to so many.

Now, as we face the reality of her loss, we are doing everything we can to honor her the way she deserves. Our hope is to raise enough to cover her cremation, burial services, and a headstone. We’re also working to manage other financial responsibilities, such as paying off her car and transitioning her household bills.

There will be a service held sometime within the next two months, updates to come, all are welcome.

If you are able to support in any way—through a donation or simply by sharing this page—it would mean the world to our family. Every gesture, big or small, helps us give back to the woman who gave so much of herself to others.

Thank you for helping us carry her love forward.

With gratitude,
Mark, Chaddwik, Jacob and Shelby.
