Hello everyone,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our wonderful mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and faithful child of God that is Cecilia Clemente.

She was always a ray of sunshine in everything she did and moved mountains to support everyone she loved. She was taken from us far too soon.

Below is a small window into her fight with cancer:

In 2023, our mom Cecilia Clemente was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through her treatments, had surgery, and continued with her recovery plan. In May 2024 they found a growth in her stomach; treatments changed, but she kept going with patience and faith.

In April 2025 she became dizzy and nauseous, could not walk without help, and her thinking slowed. She went to her doctors, but there were no clear answers. On May 10, an MRI showed a 34mm tumor in her cerebellum: the part of the brain responsible for motor functions. The tumor created a blockage that led to a build up of cerebrospinal fluid in her head. That same night, she was transferred to the nearest hospital with brain specialists. They placed a temporary shunt to relieve the trapped fluid, and later a permanent one on May 17.

Doctors presented our mom with a difficult choice: She could choose to go through with the surgery to remove the growth with a high risk of complete paralysis, or she could continue without the operation and expect to live for 3 to 6 months. Mom refused to get surgery but continued with treatments to try reducing the size of the tumor in order to reduce risk in the procedure.

On May 26 she returned to McAllen for rehab and came home on June 9. Home life changed. She used a walker. She spoke less. The house was quiet. Even so, she kept trying—filling out disability and other help applications and doing what she could each day.

In mid-July, she declined quickly: she lost her appetite, refused needed assistance, and was not herself. On July 21, she called an ambulance because she knew something was wrong. She was sent home on the same day but we tried to get her the care she needed. On July 23, with help from our tías and first responders, she was admitted and transferred through the night to stabilize her frail condition. We stayed by her side in turns.

On the morning of July 25, 2025, our mother passed away at the early age of 56.

The following Tuesday she was cremated, and the next evening we held her service. Family members covered the funeral home costs so mom could be honored.

We would like to ask anyone willing to support our cause to help with the costs of the funeral and to afford a burial plot/grave to store her ashes. We miss her so much every day, and we appreciate any donations to help pay for her last rites.

How the funds will be used:

If we receive more than needed, we will use it to complete her memorial and maintain her resting place. We will post updates and receipts so you know how your help was used.
