Our beloved, strong Bill passed away this morning after a 13-year battle following his stroke. He was one of the toughest souls you could ever meet, outgoing, warm, full of humor, and the true life of every gathering. Bill loved people deeply, and they loved him right back. His presence filled every room, and his strength carried him far longer than anyone ever imagined.
For years, Bill kept fighting. Even through the hardest moments, he pushed forward with so much heart. I would gently ask him at times if he was ready for hospice when I saw he was suffering, and he would get upset, tell me to stop, and insist he wasn’t done fighting. That was who he was, stubborn, strong, and determined.
But about a month ago, he somehow managed to call me, even though he could barely use a phone anymore. His voice was soft and tired. He told me he was exhausted, that he couldn’t fight anymore, and that he was ready. Hearing that broke my heart, but it was also the moment he allowed himself peace. He left this world today on his terms, after giving everything he had for so many years.
So many people have reached out asking how they can help, and our family is truly grateful. I created this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of Bill’s cremation and two Celebrations of Life, one here in California and one in Las Vegas, where so many of our closest friends and family shared their best memories with him.
If you knew Bill, you know he was the heart of every gathering. Back when we lived in Las Vegas, our home became the place everyone came to, weekends filled with laughter, music, stories, and love. Bill had a rare gift, he made people feel welcome, safe, and completely comfortable. People knew they could be themselves around him, no judgment, no pressure, just warmth and acceptance. He truly was the best host, and those memories left a mark on so many lives.
That is why we want to honor him the way he would have wanted, not with silence, but with love. Not with sadness alone, but with stories, hugs, and coming together again.
We plan to hold a Celebration of Life in California and another in Las Vegas so everyone who loved him can gather, share memories, and feel his spirit in the room once more.
For those who would like to contribute, your support, big or small, means more than you know. Funds will go directly toward cremation expenses and the Celebrations of Life to honor Bill in the way he deserves.
So many people have reached out asking if they can bring food, send something, or help in other ways. We have heard from many friends and family in Las Vegas who want to come together and honor Bill. Truly, this GoFundMe is more than enough. Helping us create these Celebrations of Life, one in California and one in Las Vegas, is exactly what Bill would have wanted, all of us together again, sharing stories, laughing, crying, and remembering him with love. This is all we ask for.
If you have photos of Bill, we would love for you to share them. Seeing those moments, those smiles, and those memories means everything to us.
For years, I have advocated for Bill, protected him, and cared for him in ways many never saw. This has been a long, emotional, bittersweet journey, one filled with love, heartbreak, and profound devotion. To finally see him at peace brings both pain and relief, and a deep gratitude that his suffering is over.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us, prayed for us, stood by us, or simply held us in your hearts. Your kindness is carrying us through one of the hardest moments of our lives.
Bill, we love you. We miss you. And we feel you with us, now and always.
