Hi everyone, our names are Charlotte LoCicero and Alessandra Pimentel, and we are Ben’s cousins. It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the sudden and tragic loss of our cousin, Benjamin LoCicero, who was taken from us far too soon on the night of December 13th in San Marcos, Ca.
Ben was only 34 years old. He was struck by a vehicle while walking on West San Marcos Boulevard and, despite life-saving efforts, he passed away shortly after. Our family is still in shock, trying to process how someone so full of life, kindness, and love could be gone in an instant.
Ben was truly one of those people who made everyone feel seen and welcomed. As his mom, Linda, so beautifully said, “Everybody loved Ben, and Ben loved everybody.” His smile, hugs, laughter, and genuine care for others were unforgettable. He was a devoted son to Gary and Linda, brother to Alissa, cousin, and friend, and someone you could always count on.
Ben came from a loving family and was even more sweet and loving. He grew up in Encinitas, attended La Costa Canyon High School and MiraCosta College, and touched countless lives along the way. He spent five years working as a bartender at SolTerra Winery and Kitchen, where many came to know and love him. More recently, he was working alongside his stepdad installing garage doors while excitedly beginning to pursue a new career path in computer work. He was hopeful, motivated, and looking forward to what the future held.
One of the clearest examples of Ben’s heart was how he and his sister cared for their father in their 20s when he developed early-onset Alzheimer’s; a level of compassion and selflessness that defined who Ben was.
We are asking for help during this incredibly painful time to support Ben’s family with funeral expenses and the many unexpected costs that come with such a sudden loss. Any contribution, no matter the amount, or even simply sharing this page, means more than we can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Ben and for holding our family in your thoughts. We are so grateful for the love and support surrounding us as we honor and remember a man who meant so much to so many.
With love and gratitude,
Charlotte and Alessandra
