Remembering Basilio: Funeral Assistance Needed

We are seeking financial assistance for my father, Basilio Diaz, who has been battling sepsis triggered by a UTI that progressed to his kidneys and subsequently developed into endocarditis, a bacterial infection affecting his heart valve. Despite initial treatment for sepsis, his condition weakened, and by the time he was transferred to heart specialists, his body was deteriorating rapidly, with a decreasing platelet count that made surgery a high-risk option. As a result, antibiotics were the only viable alternative. On Father's Day, we received a call from the facility where he was undergoing antibiotic treatment, informing us that he had been rushed to the hospital and intubated due to improper lung function, which led to a diagnosis of pneumonia and the insertion of a chest tube to drain fluid from his lungs. A few days later, we discovered that his lung required more extensive drainage than recommended, and it was then that we learned cancer had returned and was rapidly progressing. At just 66 years old, we were unprepared for this turn of events, and he is now in hospice care, awaiting the inevitable, as doctors have exhausted all treatment options and cancer has left him too weak to fight.
