Remembering Baby Boy Rowbury

Donation protected

As many of our dear friends and family knew, Zach and I were beyond excited about becoming pregnant after wanting a family for so long. Our dreams came true when we found out we were expecting in September of 2016 and anxiously awaited our due date where we'd finally become parents on 5/11/17. After weeks passed we attended our monthly OB appointments where we watched our precious, healthy baby grow month after month.

On the morning of Thursday, December 15th, 2016 I was exactly 19 weeks and we had an appointment with our doctor to find out the gender of our baby we waited so patiently for. We began our appointment beyond excited to finally find out whether our first child would be a little girl or a little boy. After what seemed like the longest, most quiet ultrasound ever, the technician told us she had to step out of the room and immediately our hearts sunk, our minds raced and the worst thoughts possible crossed our minds.  When she returned she had a nurse with her who said "the doctor needs to meet with you" and instantly I became sick to my stomach. When our doctor arrived, he informed Zach and me that he was sorry but there was no heart beat and that the baby was only measuring 17 weeks and 2 days. After lots of discussion and even more tears, I was sent to the hospital to be induced and would then spend the next almost 20 hours in labor before giving birth to the most precious and perfect, tiny baby boy who, from that point forward, has changed Zach and I's life forever. Our son was born on 12/16/16 at 5:58am weighing 4.32 oz and was 7.5 inches long. Experiencing the birth of your first child is supposed to be one of the happiest moments in a couples life, however, never could I ever imagine the hurt and devastation it would bring having a son you have to bury and doing so, just days before Christmas. The pain is indescribable and every piece of who we are seems absolutely broken with no relief in sight. Our family now has a guardian angel instead of a son.

Zach and I have to decided to do a go fund me account to help with the cost of services and a burial for our son who has forever impacted our lives in a way that could never be forgotten. The funds raised will also help with medical bills and complication that happened while I was in labor. We are so thankful for our friends and family who have reached out to us offering their support. We appreciate you all more than you know.

Lastly, a HUGE thank you to Brenda, Kali and Stacey (my aunts) for making calls and arrangements for us, attending appointments for support, bringing meals each night and continually checking on us day after day. We love and appreciate you more that you know.

If you or others would like to help in anyway or offer condolences we would so great appreciate any financial donations through this account OR you can send a card or flowers to 410 Diamond Drive in Kimberly, ID 83341.

To our son, we loved you then and we love you now, we always have and we always will. You will always to our baby boy, our guardian angel and showered with the most love we both can give you. We miss you more than ever. Love, mommy and daddy. OXO kisses and hugs and ALL our love.

With Love and Appreciation,
Bree Van Leeuwen & Zach Rowbury
