As we have now reached our funding goal and secured a venue (good job everyone thank you for your generosity) any further money will be donated to a charity on behalf of Behrang.

What can you say at a time like this? We all feel sadness, desperation, anger, frustration, and despair... it's such a hard time. With the news of Behrangs untimely passing, we must accept the hard truth that our once cheerful, excitable, funny friend is no longer with us. As most of you are aware, his family has decided to have a private funeral that will not include his vast array of friends. Behrang was so popular he had friends from work, high school, sports, uni, travel, family, friends of friends, so many people...

Funerals bring us many things. Reality, they make us accept the hard truth that we are fighting against in our minds. Recall, they give us an opportunity to remember all the great times we had together. Support, they allow us to come together and help each other in a difficult time. Expression, they allow us to express how we are feeling and feel like we dont need to hold back or supress our feelings. Meaning, they let us draw meaning from seeing the other aspects of a persons life through their aquantinces and colleagues. Transcendence, they let us (if we belive as such) to contemplate where he has gone.

With all this mind we are planning a memorial event for Behrang, while typically funerals are funded through the estate of the person who has passed that is not practical in this situation given we are respecting the familys wish to have a private funeral. As such we are planning a memorial function and need to fund it through all of his friends who would like to attend.

It is difficult to plan because we dont know exactly how many people are attending. Cost for the function from calling venues is approximately $50 a head and we need to know 10 days before the function with a guest list and upfront payment so if everyone who would like to attend can please chip in $50 here and leave a message with the names to add to the guest list that would be great. Any extra money will go onto the bar tab at the venue as the $50 covers venue hire and canopes.
