On Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, at 5:18 AM, our beloved father, Anthony Waldo Sr. passed away at the age of 65. This sudden loss has left our family heartbroken and facing unexpected challenges.

Earlier this year, Dad was full of life. By late March, what seemed like a common cold quickly escalated. He suddenly began to suffer from severe respiratory issues and rapid weight loss. In May, he was diagnosed with pneumonia, and doctors discovered an unidentified mass in his right lung. His symptoms continued to accelerate dramatically, leading to prescriptions for anxiety medication just to help him cope with his struggle to breathe.

Despite multiple hospital visits and attempts to diagnose the cause of his suffering, his condition worsened. On June 16th, he was admitted for the last time. Tragically, after being sedated to aid his breathing, he suffered a sudden cardiac event on June 18th. His youngest son, Anthony Jr., 22, who had been by his side daily, was called as doctors performed CPR for 48 minutes. They were unable to save him.

Anthony Sr. was a devoted father to Michael Smith (49), Precious Curry (26), and Anthony Waldo Jr. (22). He was a pillar of support for everyone in his life—family, friends, and even strangers. He always gave his best to us, and we depended on him greatly. Our father left us without preparations for this unexpected tragedy, as he never imagined his time would come so soon.

We are now faced with the daunting task of honoring his memory by giving him the burial he deserves. We are reaching out for support to help cover these unforeseen expenses. Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to our family and help us lay our beloved father to rest.
