Remembering Anthony Ashbolt

Dr. Anthony Ashbolt – scholar, activist, educator, musician, egalitarian, friend, husband, brother, father, grandfather and colleague – died unexpectedly on 5 June 2021.

We need a memorial for Anthony which will tell others of his wisdom, humour, intelligence and insightfulness, and somewhere we can all take time remembering this outstanding person. A bench seat or picnic table in Wollongong Botanic Garden, which Anthony often visited, ($2200 for a decade) is a good start. We are also exploring a memorial tree, somewhere close to Anthony’s heart, somewhere where we might also draw strength for future struggles. Any funds remaining will contribute to a prize or scholarship for a UOW student.
