Remembering Andy Loftus: A Final Goodbye

Andy Loftus moved to Nebraska with his girlfriend and her children to start a new life. He was an avid weightlifter and health and fitness enthusiast, so his diagnosis of leukemia earlier this year was a surprise to all who knew him. He was undergoing cancer treatments and was optimistic about the battle that lay ahead of him.

On May 4th, he was found unresponsive. Despite being revived at the hospital and put on life support, doctors determined that he would have no ability to sustain life if taken off life support. His parents had to make the impossible decision to withdraw care and let their son go, and in the early morning hours of May 5th, Andy passed away. He left behind a loving girlfriend and stepchildren, and a large family in Iowa.
