Andrew Joseph Yancey, age 29, of Irondale, Alabama, passed Monday evening, December 24, 2018.
Andy loved children and animals, and had a great sense of humor. Two of his greatest joys were fishing and enjoying nature in beautiful locations. He will be remembered by his many family members and friends as an exceedingly sweet and caring man with a gentle soul.
He was a kind friend to many people. He enjoyed Alabama Crimson Tide football and travel. "You will always be in our hearts, Andy."
A graduate of Enumclaw High School in Enumclaw, Washington, Andy attended the University of Hawaii before completing his undergraduate studies at Central Washington University.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles E. Yancey Jr., Doris I. Yancey, and John Small Sr.
Survivors include Andy's parents, Susan Small Yancey of McCleary, Washington and William C. Yancey Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama; maternal grandmother, Rosemary Small of Elma, Washington; one sister, Alison Yancey Snider (Israel) of Shelbyville, Kentucky; four brothers, William C. Yancey Jr. (Shawna), Matthew G. Yancey (Michelle), and Charles E. Yancey III, all of Birmingham, and Jesse S. Yancey of Maui, Hawaii; aunts, Peggy Yancey Williams (Pearce) of Hoover, Alabama, Sally Small Reyes (Kyle) of Enumclaw, Washington, and Stacy Small Pierce (Dave) of Strasburg, Colorado; uncles, Rex Yancey (Kevin) of Rochester, New Hampshire and John Small Jr. (NickCole) of Boise, Idaho; nephew, Liam; and nieces, Ryan, Lucy, Sarah Beth, Lexy, Kyra, and Macie. Andy also leaves behind his faithful dog and companion, Bubs.
In response to the outpouring of offerings, all donations will be used to help support the family through this difficult time.
