Hello Family and Friends,

I hope and pray that each of you are safe and well. As some of you may know we recently lost our dear friend and beloved brother Maurice “Mo” David Murphy. Maurice was an unbelievably talented performer. Dynamic and charismatic on stage with a voice that could unearth the soul of any human being. At the young age of 39, Maurice was called home to sing amongst the angels and to perform for our ancestors. Born on Nov 18th, 1982, Maurice passed away in his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. He leaves behind a legacy that includes three Broadway shows, most notably his performance in Motown the Musical, a performance in Hair Live at the Hollywood Bowl, an appearance in the televised version of The Wiz Live on NBC and countless live performances and regional theatre productions. Maurice’s gift as a singer and storyteller garnered him fans both nationally and internationally, but he will most be remembered for his sweet spirit, his gentle heart, his grit, his grace, and his love. He will be missed but certainly not forgotten.

In service to his family we have created this GoFundMe page to help with the funeral expenses and any other expenses that come with losing a loved one.

Maurice’s viewing and service will take place on Jan 8th 2022.
