Donation protected
We all miss you, Beaver !

First off, Thank you so much for taking your time to read this - Shawn McCoy is the Southbay's one and only “Leave it to Beaver.”
For any of you who grew up with or befriended him, you understand how he quickly he became one my dearest lifetime friends. His love was unconditional and his influence was vast.
We started this GoFundMe to find closure in his life’s tragic end.
We recall from our memories of your passion for music, the sincerity of your lyrics, your ability to bring people together, to put a smile on ones face, your bashful sarcasm, and we will always cherish the love and dedication you had for your family and friends. No matter the timeframe lapse between visits or chats it always felt comfortable, your presence so warm, inviting, and accepting of everyone. You loved so unconditionally. Your love was felt by so many and so deeply. You were a lover, an influencer, a doer, a true friend. You were always there. The world could use more sincere, passionate, kind and strong people like you Shawn Aloysious McCoy. The sound of your unique voice will forever be heard and the warmth of your presence shall never be forgotten.
Shawn was born on March 18, 1973 to Claire McCoy (deceased Nov 2018) and grew up in Hermosa Beach with his mom and older sister Renee. Beaver had a heart of gold and was always going above and beyond for others and took great pride in all that he did. He even helped his sister Renee raise her son Blake Zingale.
Beaver loved playing and writing music so much. He released 6 full length records, 4 with Out of Order, and 2 with Killem Gillem, which was named after his Grandma Gladys "Killem Gillem" a pioneer of woman's wrestling and lion tamer who rescued Shawn from a fire when he was little. In the 90's his band Out of Order did 5 Airwalk commercials, and a Kit Kat commercial, and appeared in the movie American Vampire.
Shawn also helped create "Bands for Bread!" This was concert to help raise money to feed the homeless during the holidays. Beav did so much for so many, never expecting anything in return. He was always happy, respectful and fun to be with. All these memories, we'll always remember you. It breaks my heart to know you had so much more to give.
On December 31, 2019 Shawn was found deceased and alone in his MGM hotel room. The cause of death at this time is still unknown. At this time his car and his keys are still missing. We need to raise money to pay for his funeral expenses, an autopsy and private investigater to bring friends and family closure. Finding out what exactly happened in his final days that lead to his tragic death is a must.
My name is Traci and Beaver was my dear friend for over 30 years. We survived a bad accident together back in our "Get Smart-Quadrophenia" scooter days. We also survived the Beachboys cafe shooting during a "Bands for Bread" benefit concert. We were inseparable as teens, he was my best friend and confidant. Some of my most memorable times, good, bad, bizarre, unfortunate, silly, crazy and exciting were with Beaver at my side. I'll miss him dearly.
Please help us and donate. Any contribution is greatly appreciated in honor of his life. Shawn aka THE BEAV aka BEAVER is a giver, an influencer, a kind, gentle souled man, and most of all, our friend.
Thank you soooo much from the bottom of our hearts so warm. . . We are all grateful for your donations and friendship. This is a very difficult time. There are so many unanswered questions and uncertainties in the cause of his death. We will be updating the GoFundMe as new findings arise.
If we all work together we can ACHIEVE anything.
YOU ARE APPRECIATED.
