Supporting the Talbert family

Father, Friend, Colleague, Mentor…
These words, and many others, could be used to describe Ben Talbert (prankster comes to mind as well). His recent loss is hitting those of us he has impacted over the years in different, powerful ways. However, it is safe to say that everyone feels his loss and knows the impact that his sudden passing has had upon friends and family alike.
As most know, in recent years, Ben had relocated from Washington to New Mexico and although he was planning a return to the Seattle area to be closer to his children, he had established roots in his adopted desert home. However rich in the many ways that truly matter; love for family and friends, and influence upon the youth he served both as a teacher and as a principal, Ben had not planned for his own passing.
There are practical needs that his children now must face and a short timeline within which they must work. Ben’s daughter, Katherine is taking the lead in this work. She, her brothers and Ben’s first wife, Karen will now travel to gather Ben’s belongings. They will arrange for services in both New Mexico and Washington and deal with the many harsh realities that come with a sudden, unexpected loss.
If you are in a position to help Ben’s family deal with these unexpected challenges, please consider doing so. All donations will be used to help to address the financial impact of the unexpected responsibilities that they now have to face.
As the difficult task of putting Ben’s affairs in order comes to pass, the family will be releasing the details for a celebration of life. This event will give those of us who were impacted by Ben’s love and generous nature a chance to share time and remember their love for this incredible man.
