Remembering Amy Kang
Donation protected
Hi, I'm a close friend of Amy's, just one of the many people that Amy's life touched during her time with us. A lot of us our still processing the unexpected loss of her this last Sunday but I wanted to create a space for us to donate funds to her memorial services and opportunities to honor our friend in the near future. We are still deciding other ways we want to honor her amongst her Portland family but know that we will communicate this as soon as we have some more concrete plans. We are hoping to have multiple gatherings in the future so that everyone can have opportunities to honor her. Just know that whatever you donate will be in tribute to our dear friend. She gave so much to our community and was an outspoken advocate for kids affected by mental health, AIDS/HIV, sexual assault, in addition to other medical disparities. Amy was loved by so many and our thoughts go out to her family. Lets honor the work she did and give back to these organizations because we know she would want us to. Her obituary is included below.
Our beautiful Amy Marrie Kang, a loyal friend, sister, daughter, and nurse who cared for countless vulnerable populations, dedicated her life to serving those in need. Born October 4, 1984 she passed December 19, 2021 in Portland, Oregon where Amy has been residing.
Amy is survived by her grandmother (halmoni) Soon Ja Ann, mother (uma) Yong He Kim, her two brother’s David Kim, Daniel Kim, and her sister Annie Kang.
She will be remembered by a large group of friends; a testament to her warm and loving personality.
In lieu of flowers, there will be a GoFundMe where proceeds will be donated to charities that she was passionate about.
