Our hearts are shattered as we share the loss of 17 year old Amari Cooper, a beautiful young woman from Charlotte, North Carolina, whose life was tragically taken far too soon.

Amari was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, and devoted mother to her 2-year-old toddler, whom she adored and cared for with her whole heart. At only 17 years old, Amari showed strength, maturity, and independence far beyond her age. She was not only finishing her studies at West Charlotte High School, but also financially supporting her child while pursuing her dreams.

Amari had a bright and determined spirit. She had started her own hairstyling business , a rare and remarkable accomplishment for someone her age. She worked tirelessly to create a better life for her child and her family. Everyone who knew Amari remembers her radiant smile, her energy, and her confidence. She was always full of life, ambition, and love. She dreamed big, believed in herself, and inspired others to do the same.

Friends and loved ones remember how excited she was about the little things , from planning her next hairstyle to shopping , laughing with her friends , or spending time with family. She loved both of her parents. & The love for her younger sister was out of this world. Amari had a contagious joy that made everyone around her feel special.

Tragically, in the early hours of a Saturday morning, Amari’s life was cut short due to gun violence during what should have been a night of fun with friends. The Charlotte community and all who knew her are heartbroken. Her parents, Shante Robinson and Othan Cooper, are left grieving an unimaginable loss while also stepping in to raise and provide for Amari’s young child.

This GoFundMe has been created by Diamond Anthony, Amari’s cousin, to support her parents, Shante Robinson and Othan Cooper, during this incredibly painful time.

How the funds will be used:

• To help cover Amari’s funeral and memorial expenses

• To provide for the immediate and ongoing care of her 2-year-old child

• To help Shante and Othan as they take on the full financial and emotional responsibility of raising their grandchild

All donations will go directly to Shante Robinson and Othan Cooper, Amari’s parents, to help them honor her memory and ensure her baby continues to be loved and cared for.

Amari will forever be remembered for her love, her strength, and the light she brought into every life she touched. She was a devoted mother, a caring daughter, and a beautiful soul who dreamed of a bright future for her and her child.
