Remembering Amari Cooper
Our hearts are shattered as we share the loss of 17-year-old Amari Cooper, a beautiful young woman from Charlotte, North Carolina, whose life was tragically taken far too soon.
Amari was a loving daughter, sister, and devoted mother to her 2-year-old toddler, whom she loved with all her heart. At only 17, Amari showed a strength and maturity beyond her years. She was not only finishing her studies at West Charlotte High School, but also financially supporting her child while pursuing her dreams. She had recently started her own hairstyling business, showing her determination, independence, and creativity qualities that everyone admired in her.
Those who knew Amari remember her radiant smile, her confidence, and the joy she brought into every room. She was full of life and ambition , always talking about her plans for the future, how she wanted to build a better life for her child, and how she hoped to make her family proud. Her energy, laughter, and drive were contagious.
Tragically, Amari’s life was cut short due to gun violence during what should have been a night of fun with friends. Now, her family is left heartbroken, grieving a loss no parent should ever endure. Her mother is now faced with the tremendous emotional and financial burden of laying her daughter to rest and stepping in to raise Amari’s young child, ensuring the little one continues to be cared for and loved the way Amari always intended.
This GoFundMe has been created to help Amari’s family cover funeral and memorial expenses, and to support the care of her 2-year-old child during this unimaginable time. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps ease the weight this family now carries and honors the memory of a young woman who gave her all to those she loved.
Amari will forever be remembered for her light, her resilience, and her love especially the love she had for her baby. Her memory will continue to live on in her child, her family, and everyone blessed enough to have known her.
Please keep Amari’s family in your prayers and share this page to help them through this heartbreaking time.
