Rocket Family,
As some of you may know, we recently lost another one of our own, Allen Finks. Allen was dedicated to Irvin High School all of his life and always helped out in various ways. Coach Shaw always said to look out for Allen, and that is what we all did.
I don't know if everyone was aware of Allen's situation because he never really talked much about his struggles. Allen was living in an assisted living facility and had struggled with diabetes. Even after amputations on his lower limbs, he would still make his way to the high school to help out with filming football games or keeping score at basketball and baseball games. It didn't matter to Allen what program at Irvin needed help; he was there to provide his services.
Allen was a kind soul, and unfortunately, the Rocket Family was all that he had left to live out his life with, being that other family members passed on before him. He asked that Coach Urias and Sandy have power of attorney if something was to happen to him, and they are currently handling all of the arrangements to make sure that Allen's wishes are met. He asked to be cremated and put to rest next to his mom, who loved him dearly.
We are asking that our Rocket Family or anyone who knew Allen, who is willing to help out with the final expenses, to make sure that his wishes are met, will find it in your heart to donate money or just share this post with others who knew Allen and would like to donate to his final expenses. Every little bit helps. We will post all the details once all the arrangements for the memorial of Allen have been made so we all can come out and say goodbye to him.
Thanks, and may God bless Allen Finks.
Please help, and let's make this happen for Allen.
P2B A Rocket.
