REMEMBERING ALEX & RALLYING AROUND RICK

We may be devastated by the death of the singular Alex Mexi, but he remains very much alive in the hearts and memories of those who knew him, loved him, and coveted his crochet handiwork. His friendship expanded and changed each of us in ways we’ll continue to discover as we mourn and celebrate his extraordinary life - and set our intentions with every new moon!

While Alex’s indomitable spirit explores the cosmos, here on earth his beloved husband Ricky needs our love, compassion, and practical support. Theirs was a true marriage of equals. The unconditional love and understanding they offered each other and the people in their lives was inspiring to witness. We can all honor their union by rallying around Rick as he weathers his heartbreak and some challenging months ahead.

With Alex gone, household expenses that they shared will now be shouldered by Rick alone, which leaves him in a precarious financial position. There is $60,000 remaining on the mortgage, and their house/studio requires some practical updates so that he can continue to make art and age comfortably in place. Ensuring that his Ricky had a forever home was of paramount importance to Alex. Nothing would have given him more joy than seeing Rick begin the next chapter of his life there free from financial anxiety. Let’s make that happen!
